A headset can make a huge difference in your gaming setup. It allows you to play long into the night without worrying about disturbing your neighbors or family. If you have a good headset, the sound quality can be far superior to that from your TV. We'll show you our top picks for the best Xbox headsets 2022 so you can make the right purchase.
We've considered a few things to help us pick our favorites. To ensure that you are fully immersed after the cups close around you ears, we first consider sound performance.
Next, we will be focusing on headsets that are comfortable. You want one that you can comfortably wear for hours. Do they really want to have earache halfway through a long CoD session?
We also considered battery life and ease of use for wireless headsets. It doesn't matter if the headset is difficult to connect every time or leaves your living space looking like a spaghetti junction.
Here are our top picks for the best Xbox headsets of 2022.
1. Steelseries Arctis 9X
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

The Steelseries Arctis 9X headset is the best Xbox headset available right now, even if you don't have the budget. S right now.
The 40 mm Neodymium drivers are perfect for any audio needs, whether it's the small audio clues in competitive shooters or the richer sound effects in Skyrim's orchestral scores. The headset uses Xbox Wireless technology, which allows you to connect directly to your console without needing to use cables or dongles.
The Arctis 9X is a great option for Xbox owners, with its 20-hour battery life and ClearCast noise cancelling microphone.
2. Xbox Wireless Headset
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

My personal favorite from this list is the Xbox Wireless Headset. The Xbox Wireless Headset was released in early 2012, and I have worn it for close to 100 hours. The Xbox Wireless Headset sounds great, whether it's the electronic beats of Rocket League, the electric atmosphere in Old Trafford on FIFA 21 or every thumping shot I get from my AK74U in Black Ops Cold War.
The best thing about this headset was how easy it was for me to connect. Just a quick push of the sync button at the left earcup and a touch of the one on my Series X, and I was ready to go. The rotating ear cups make it easy to use the headset. The left controls the volume of the game/voice chat mixer, so you can adjust the volume to your liking. The right controls the overall volume and allows you to crank it up so that you are fully immersed in the game.
It has also been impressive in terms of battery life. It took approximately three hours to fully recharge after it died and lasted around 15 hours on a single charge.
Only problem is the mic monitoring, which is not the best we have heard and can be a bit difficult to read. It is also quite bass heavy, which will depend on your personal preferences. It's a great addition to the sound profile of shooters.
All this for only $99.99/PS89.99, it's hard to argue against. That's why we ranked the Xbox Wireless Headset at number 2.
3. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

Third place goes to another of my personal favorites. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 model is an improved version of its flagship model. It features a sleeker design, including a flick-to-mute mic and muted black-and-grey colors. The left earcup contains all the buttons that you will need, making it easy for you to adjust your game mid-game.
Stealth 700 Gen 2's are sounding great. They have 50mm Nanoclear Drivers, which produce crisp sound that helps you identify where the gunfire and the pounding of footsteps are coming from. Trust me, the Superhuman hearing mode provides a God-tier sound profile that is ideal for competitive play.
These earcups not only have great audio quality, but they are also extremely comfortable to wear for long periods. Turtle Beach uses 'Aerofit cooling gel infused ear pillows' that are made with memory foam to keep your ears cool and sweaty. The headset doesn't feel too tight on your head.
Although they are a bit more expensive than the others on the list, the quality of these batteries is excellent.
4. Razer Nari Ultimate
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

The Razer Nari Ultimate has a unique USP that is quite fascinating. The technology, known as Razer Hypersense, is basically high-definition haptics which allows you to 'feel' the sounds as well as hear them.
It really adds another dimension to the gaming experience. This is especially true considering the fact that each earcup has its own technology, which allows it to immerse you on an explosive battlefield where a bomb to your left will send a rumbling sensation down your face. This also adds depth to bass-y sounds, but it is up to you to decide if this is more than superficial.
The Nari Ultimate also features Hypersense and 50mm drivers, which really bring your gaming audio to life. Both are housed in cooling gel-cushioned headphones with leatherette and memory foam for a premium feel.
The Nari Ultimate connects directly with your Xbox. This makes it easy to set up and use. The layout is simple enough and the mic can be muted using a mute button.
Battery life can get a little iffy when you use Hypersense, which can be turned off. It takes 6 hours. However, turning off the functionality will bring it closer to 20 hours. This puts it in line with its competitors.
The microphone quality is not perfect, so it dropped a few spots in our ranking. The Razer Nari Ultimate headset is the best Xbox headset for 2022 if you want something that stands out and enhances your experience.
5. Astro A50
Best Xbox Headsets 2022
S. The A50 headset is bass-heavy without being too loud. It also ensures that there is a satisfying rumble, boom, explosion, and gunshots. However, it doesn't drown out dialog and footsteps in the middle section.
It's one of the most comfortable headsets available, but its hate-it-or love-it design is the compromise. The magnetic ear cup system allows for incredible customization, with users being able to easily switch between the leather-like velour ear cushions and the leather-like leather-like finish.
"So Chris, why is this not on our top ten list? It's so incredible!" I hear you asking.
The microphone quality of the A50's is not up to par for the amazing sound and comfort they will provide. The headset does not tighten around your ears, so there is no noise cancellation. If you have a lot more background noise than you can hear in real life, this can cause you to lose focus during quieter sections and conversation-driven cutscenes.
The charging station on the A50 adds to the premium feel. It stores and charges your headset while acting as a'receiver' for wireless technology. Even if you don’t charge the headset every time you play, the A50’s will last around 15 hours again. This should be enough for most gamers.
6. Steelseries Arctis1 Wireless Headset
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

Steelseries Arctis 1 headset is another great product from the company. It's well worth the $99 price. The headset is lightweight and durable, has great sound quality, and is comfortable enough to use for long periods of time.
Steelseries chose a minimalist design for the headband. The branding is on the black earcups. It's also black with a steel band that runs through it, giving it a strong feel that will put you at ease about it snapping.
The band is also very comfortable. It fits snugly over your head, creating a seal that also provides excellent sound isolation. The left headset has a volume dial, and a mic mute switch. If you don't want it to be in your peripheral vision during single player sessions, the mic is good quality and can be removed.
The Arctis 1, at this price, is a great deal because of its sound quality. The sound quality is outstanding and it rivals the more expensive options. It has explosive lows and clear highs.
The only problem we have with the Arctis 1 wireless headset is the absence of a volume mixer for voice and game chats. The option is only available when the device is wired but not when it's paired wirelessly. It can be difficult to hear your friends who speak a lot (like me), when the action gets louder in-game.
It's still a very affordable price, so tell your friends to get involved or move the mic closer. This is an excellent choice and an auditory companion that will provide exceptional sound and comfort for many years.
7. Corsair HS75 XB
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

The Corsair HS75 XB is a huge favorite of ours. S, this wireless headset connects easily to your console with a simple pressing of the pairing buttons on both the set itself and your system.
It's as easy as putting the HS75XB's on your ears and enjoying the amazing sound quality. The HS75 XB's are among the most high-quality headphones available right now. Wireless connectivity means that you won't have to worry if it gets too loud.
It's worth noting, however, that the HS75 XB can occasionally get a bit muddy in its low-end range. However, there is plenty of boom and rumble to immerse yourself in the action.
It is also one the most comfortable headsets available. The headband and earcup cushions are covered in synthetic leather to give it a premium feel. The earcups have a plastic grill at the back to allow air to circulate, keeping your ears cool even during long sessions.
Add to that a battery life of about 20 hours, and the Corsair H75 XB ticks all boxes. It is just too bad that it costs $159/ PS169, making it one of the most expensive sets on this list.
8. Corsair HS35
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

Corsair has a great headset for under $50 that is versatile and affordable. Although the Corsair HS35 headset is wired, it has a great microphone and stereo sound. The headset also offers decent comfort due to memory foam earcups, a generously padded neckband, and a good level of comfort.
Although it's not as good as the Steelseries Arctis 9X, Razer Nari, or Astro A50s in sound quality, we recommend this excellent option if you are looking for something that will do the job and won't break the bank.
9.Turtle Beach Recon500
Best Xbox Headsets 2022
Turtle Beach, Image Credit
The Turtle Beach Recon 500 headset is simple in design. However, it can save all its BGE (Big Gamer Energy), for exceptional performance at an extremely high price. The Recon 500 wired headset is just $100. It features dedicated woofers for each earcup and 60mm drivers. This makes for an impressive soundscape that can deliver a high-quality sound quality for your multiplayer games with your friends.
Although it isn't going to be able to compete with the big guys at the top of the list, at this price point, it's hard to beat. The optional extras are also very limited. The headset is wired and has only one volume knob. This means you cannot adjust the chat volume independently of your game or chat volume on other sets. This headset is still a solid recommendation for audio quality.
10. Razer Kraken X
Best Xbox Headsets 2022
Razer Kraken X, another multi-platform headset, is a great value. It boasts 40mm drivers, and a sleek, minimalistic design, which is unusual for a Razer product.
The Kraken X costs $49.99/ PS49.99 and plugs directly into your Xbox controller via the 3.5mm jack. The Kraken X is light at 250g but offers comfort with memory foam cushioning in the earcups, and some padding on the headband. You can remove the microphone completely. It is also flexible, so you can quickly move it to one side or another mid-game.
The Kraken X is a great example of practicality and comfort that doesn't sound great. It can blast our clear highs with booming lowers and also uses spatial sound technology to pinpoint where those footsteps are coming. Although it's not as powerful as high-end headsets with spatial sound, you do get what you pay.
The Kraken X headset is a great choice if you are looking for a headset that won't break the bank, will work with your phone, PlayStation, or PC as well as your Xbox.
11. FNATIC React Plus
Best Xbox Headsets 2022

Although the FNATIC React Plus is unlikely to be on many 'best Xbox headsets' lists this year due to its low price, it has the specifications and features that make it worthy of mention.
Its in-line controls for audio output, microphone, and comfort make it a great recommendation, especially at the price of $99.99/ PS84.99. The USB 7.1 soundcard is available for both Xbox and PC users. It provides an amazing virtual surround sound experience that sounds incredible.
This makes single-player games more enjoyable and gives you an advantage in multiplayer online.
